iPhone 8 may feature infrared face unlock

A new report suggests the iPhone 8 may utilise an infrared face unlock as a security method for user recognition.

The iPhone 8 is undoubtedly the most talked about smartphone of 2017, and today we have yet another set of rumours about the upcoming device and its design and features courtesy of an article from Engadget.

Specifically, the article suggests the iPhone 8 may utilise an infrared face unlock as a security method for user recognition, and that the device will feature a near-bezel-less design.

The iPhone 8 is expected to launch later this year although some commentators have warned it may be delayed due to an industry shortage of certain smartphone parts.
