New virtual reality accessory will allow users to feel pain

Korean technologists have developed a device that allows users to feel pain when an injury occurs in a VR environment.

New virtual reality accessory will allow users to feel pain

Called the TEGway ThermoReal, the game controller uses thermoelectric technology to rapidly heat and cool its handgrip.

It can produce temperatures ranging from 4 to 40 degrees celsius and swing rapidly between the two.

It can also produce different temperatures on different areas of the device’s surface.

These temperature differences, when suddenly applied, can simulate pain up to about the level of a pinch.

It can also produce an evenly distributed temperature level, allowing the device to simulate a hot, cold, or warm environment.
