Peter McVerry: A View From The Basement

Triskel, 1pm

The Dublin based campaigner for those affected by addiction and homelessness will be present for the screening of this recent RTÉ documentary. He will also take part in a discussion on some of the issues raised by the film.

Cork actress George Hanover stars as the woman coming to terms with her biological clock in a film written by Gerry Stembridge.

Slavic film that focuses on three love stories in a Balkan region bristling with inter-ethnic hatred.

Frank O’Connor — Idir Dhá Shruth

Gate, 1.45pm

Liam O’Muirhile narrates the story of the celebrated short story writer’s bilingualism, arguing that you can’t fully appreciate his work in English without understanding his Irish side.

Spike Lee’s latest offering is set in Chicago for a contemporary take on Aristophanes’ comedy Lysistrate. A group of women enforce a sex strike on their violent men.

St Fin Barre’s Cathedral, 7pm+ 9pm

Not a film... more a musical event with visuals. Eat My Noise are a duo of Cork-based sound artists, and they’ve teamed up with visual artist David Mathuna to make the most of the cathedral’s organ and spectacular setting for an event that will also run on Friday evening.

Cork director Billy O’Brien will be present for a q+a following the showing of his thriller.
