That Galway pub found the hero that returned the wallet lost at the Euros

Michael Lyons from Ennis found John O’Connor’s wallet in Paris and tracked it back to the Dáil Bar in Galway, where he works.

He got his friend, Jack Lynch to drop the wallet into the bar for him with all John’s money and cards still intact. However, no contact details were left so the bar put out an appeal on social media.

Michael noticed the online buzz and got in touch.

As a thank you for the good deed, the Dáil Bar is treating Michael to an all-expenses-paid trip for him and a friend to see Manchester United (his favourite football team) play a game at Old Trafford, including flights, accommodation and spending money.

And, of course, he will also be given a free pint any time he visits the pub.

Not bad at all!

But Michael says he hadn’t expected a thing for returning the wallet - he just wanted to help someone out who lost their wallet and was thrilled with the gift.

Fair play to both Michael and the staff at the Dáil Bar.
