Huawei GX8 review

Huawei has been knocking it out of the park with its premium offerings of late, but it still has something for the more budget-conscious consumer. The Huawei GX8 is the company's latest handset that targets the high-midrange market.

Huawei GX8 review

From the outset, it's clear that the GX8 is a Huawei device. It looks like a premium smartphone, is wrapped in aluminium, and the 5.5-inch display is covered by curved Gorilla Glass 4.

It certainly looks the part, but how does it perform? The screen is not only large enough to enjoy media, but it's sharp too at a pixel density of 401ppi. Under the hood, the GX8 utilises an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, unlike many Huawei handsets in recent years that use Huawei's own Kirin processor. The handset performs well, no doubt aided by 3GB RAM, and is more than capable of handling demanding games without any issue.
