CCTV captures the moment a car flips and lands on its roof after skidding on ice

This dramatic footage shows a woman in her 20s escaping with just minor injuries after her car skidded on ice and landed on its roof.

The CCTV footage from the UK of the car flipping off the road was captured by Sussex Police, which is warning motorists of the dangers of icy weather.

The silver Citroen Saxo is seen losing control and rolling on to its roof on the side of Alfriston Road in Sussex last Thursday.

The car lands near another vehicle which was involved in a similar collision moments before. Police said the two individuals escaped with minor injuries.

Sergeant Dan Pitcher said: “We would urge all motorists to take care on the roads around Sussex, particularly in the icy conditions when some areas can be unpredictable. Listen out for road noise - if this disappears at any stage, it may mean you are driving on ice.

“Thankfully the driver of the car captured in this footage - a local woman in her 20s - sustained only minor injuries. It could have been far worse.”
