VIDEO: Gardaí release dramatic footage of huge branch falling on burglary response car
While travelling through the Blanchardstown area during Storm Abigail last Thursday gardaí in a burglary response car narrowly avoided serious injury after a massive branch fell from a tree right in front of them.
The gardaí car has no time to get out of the way and smashes straight through the huge branch - one does shudder to think what would have happened had they been a second later under the falling tree limb.
Speaking to breakingnews.ie the Garda Press Office confirmed there were no injuries to the gardaí involved and they released the footage yesterday in order to make the public aware of the dangers associated with driving in adverse conditions.
With Ireland currently being lashed by Storm Barney the footage would seem to deliver a timely message.
This was not quite ’special branch’ for the gardaí involved though (sorry, we had to!).
I watch you
