The interview aired on Monday morning and Shane got the chance to showcase his talent to viewers across Ireland.

Ireland AM presenters, Sinead Desmond and Mark Cagney, asked Shane questions about his ability to impersonate well known characters, how he got involved in the industry and his success so far.

Shane told of his journey through clever use of impersonations of Daniel O’Donnell, Enda Kenny, Katie Taylor, George Hook, PJ Gallagher and Michael D Higgins.

He told the presenters how he started by grasping different accents while attending the All Star Performing Arts Academy in Mayo.

“I got obsessed almost with the ability to impersonate people and to change my voice,” he said.

Shane’s first impression of someone was Jake Stevens from PJ Gallagher’s Naked Camera which he showcased with a hilarious impersonation of the comedian who he has shared the stage with in the past.

Shane explained how he doesn’t suffer with stage fright but does get nervous before a gig and prepares by taking five minutes alone to settle himself.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner about his television debut experience, Shane said, “I was nervous to a certain extent as the whole experience was new but at the same time I was called down for make up and then the floor manager was going through things so I had little time to stop and think about what was happening.”

“I remember sitting in the studio as the presenters were reading the news and I looked around and thought, this is it, this is what I want to be doing.”

“I worked so hard to get to this point that I wasn’t going to let nerves or anything get the better of me. I just enjoyed it and hope to do it all over again on another show”, Shane told the Irish Examiner.
