A small land parcel in West Cork is new to the market with Clonakilty-based auctioneers Hodnett Forde Property Services, representing an opportunity to acquire land at a reasonable price in this increasingly sough-after part of Munster.

“It’s nice low-lying sheltered ground,” says selling agent John Hodnett, “with a silage crop that was taken off it in the past couple of weeks

The lands comprise 17.5 acres and have a proven track record in production, lying just a kilometre to the west of Ballinacarriga village.

“Within the lands, there’s a new roadway,” adds John. “There’s also a new well that has been drilled. It’s awaiting connection to the ESB, which is adjacent.

“Overall, it’s a good opportunity for a local farmer to acquire a land parcel like this – to extend their existing holding. It would also be suitable for a hobby farming or those with an organic project in mind… and there are some lovely views over Ballinacarriga Lake.”

There has been a good number of enquiries already for this gently sloping land so far, the agent says and the price guide is reasonably pitched at between €11,000/acre and €12,000/acre.
