Munster Bovine has become the latest organisation to become a patron of Agri Aware.
Munster Bovine, based in Mallow, Co Cork, has been in business since the 1940s and offers artificial insemination (AI) and herd management services.
The Cork-based company has an extensive base of customers in Munster and Galway. The company offers a wide range of services such as the AI technician service, milk recording, herd health, breeding and fertility.
Munster Bovine joins more than 55 patrons of Agri Aware, further strengthening the agri-food educational body’s mission to enhance agricultural literacy among the public.
Munster Bovine chief executive Martin Kavanagh said: “We are very happy to support the valuable work carried out by Agri-Aware. I look forward to contributing to their role in making sure that the value to our communities that farming brings is appreciated by the wider society.
"Our strength comes from engagement with initiatives like this to both improve farmers' lives and incomes, as well as contributing to the wider community.”
Agri Aware chairman Shay Galvin said: “We are very pleased to welcome Munster Bovine as the latest patron of Agri Aware. In recent years, we have seen the two-pronged effect of not only better genetics with regard to herd performance but also the environmental benefits improved genetics on farms can offer in the form of reduced emissions.
"It’s improvements like this and the information that comes with it that needs to be shared beyond the agricultural community, but to the general public that we engage with and is something we can now deliver on with Munster Bovine.”
