88ac North Kerry farm for October auction to start at €1.1m
House and outbuildings of the 88-acre farm at Ballygrennan, Listowel, Co Kerry. Its late owner, Eamon Foran, was a director of Listowel Race Company for 45 years.
Coming up for public auction at the Listowel Arms Hotel on Wednesday, October 15, is an 87.6-acre farm in North Kerry.
The property is at Ballygrennan, just south of Listowel. According to selling agent Tom Dillon of Listowel-based Dillon Prendiville Auctioneers, the farm is in an idyllic location, boasting picturesque views of the River Feale, Listowel and its famous racecourse.
This farm is a probate sale of the estate of the late Eamon Foran, a well-known racing enthusiast who bred and trained horses and who served as director of Listowel Race Company for 45 years, being twice elected chairman.
“There were always horses on the land,” said Mr Dillon.

"There is a dwelling and farmyard on the property, with associated traditional outbuildings.
"There’s also an enclosed round-roof arena.
The land has about 800m of road frontage, with the main road dividing it quite naturally… It’s set out over a number of fields — all in grass, and it was tilled a number of years ago.”
The property is offered in lots:
- Lot 1 (AMV €450,000); house, farmyard, outbuildings, and arena on 19.3 acres with two gated access points from road;
- Lot 2 (AMV €550,000); 50.3 acres of quality grassland with full planning permission for roadside entrance;
- Lot 3 (AMV €125,000); 18 acres of grassland;
- Lot 4 (AMV €1,125,000); the entire holding.
