Irish pig prices steady at 228c/kg as supply and demand hold firm

Year-to-date throughput is running 3% ahead of 2024 levels, or 55,745 more pigs.

Irish pig prices remained unchanged last Friday, with producers reporting an average price of 228c/kg. 

Some pig farmers secured up to 4c/kg above this average. Strong demand for pigs born and reared in Ireland is expected to continue into July.
