Open days for Tirlán milk suppliers will take place next month.

The events, on September 24 and 25, will give suppliers an opportunity to visit the Ballyragget site in Co Kilkenny.

Attendees will get a walking guided tour from when the milk enters the site in the tankers to the innovation centre, and the butter and cheese plants.

The Tirlán experience expo will showcase the end-to-end process from farm gate to world markets.

Farmers will get to see how the milk they supply is turned into various brands, nutritional and functional dairy ingredients.

Online registration for the event is required. Milk suppliers must register each additional guest – up to six people.

Farmers must register using their Tirlán milk supplier number.

The same events will be repeated on both days so suppliers can select which single day they wish to attend.

Tirlán chairman John Murphy said he looks forward to meeting as many Tirlán milk suppliers as possible.

This comes as Tirlán confirmed it will pay a total of 44.83c/litre for July creamery milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

This is an increase of 1.75c/litre on the payment for June.

Tirlán's base price is 44.33c/litre.

It continues to pay a sustainability action payment of 0.5c/litre to all qualifying suppliers.

The actual average price paid by Tirlán for July creamery milk, based on delivered constituents, will be 49.66c/litre.
