Ask a solicitor: Isn't Mum too young for a power of attorney?

Ask a solicitor: Isn't Mum too young for a power of attorney?

Both my parents are in good health and are managing the family farm - do they really need an enduring power of attorney?

Dear Angela,

My siblings want to get an Enduring Power of Attorney set up for our parents, who are in their 60s. I’m not sure that this is necessary as both my parents are in good health and are managing the family farm. Don’t we have to wait until my parents become unwell or infirm and need assistance in managing their affairs?
