When I went to the renovated Walsh Park for a championship game for the first time two years ago – the Waterford/Tipperary match – I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable the experience was; a lovely stadium, nice and compact and comfortable surroundings, with a great atmosphere.

I wouldn’t say it’s a hostile venue for the opposition - or a graveyard, as Mark Landers keeps labelling Walsh Park for Cork teams - but I’m sure that’s the way Ben O’Connor will be framing it for the players because of how he has put it up to this group to consistently challenge all kinds of stereotypes.
