ICA up-cycling competition breaths new life into old clothes and toys

A hand-sewn teddy bear made from a sweatshirt, a christening gown up-cycled from an old wedding dress and a crocheted bag made out of plastic bags – these were just three of the entries to the new ICA up-cycling competition, with prizes awarded at the recent national AGM.

Wexford Federation PRO Joe Whitmore, who attended the AGM, reports that in the same [up-cycling] competition, two highly commended places were awarded to a pair of earrings made from a Coca Cola can and a decorated peat moss scoop made from a Domestos bottle. The sweatshirt teddy won the top prize.

National competitions secretary Breda Banville reported on the activities of her committee.
