EU urged to see global context to food debate

Europe needs to see the full global context to any debate on balancing sustainable farming and food production issues, said Ireland East MEP Mairéad McGuinness.

Speaking at the Irish Holstein Friesian Association golden jubilee in Kilnard Hotel, Co Laois, the Fine Gael MEP said farming has changed hugely in 50 years.

She said IHFA’s role in effecting positive change will be invaluable in EU agriculture’s current evolution.
