Cormac Healy takes on lead meat industry role
The appointment is part of the restructuring of Meat Industry Ireland into a full business sector within Ibec, agreed earlier this year, and which will now encompass the beef, sheepmeat, pigmeat, and poultry meat sectors.
“The process of filling this key post was completed recently and Meat Industry Ireland is delighted that Cormac has accepted the appointment,” said an Ibec spokesperson.
“Mr Healy will take up the new role in the coming months, once he has completed his responsibilities within the Irish Dairy Industries Association.
“Meat Industry Ireland is delighted to welcome Cormac’s return at this more senior level where he brings very strong leadership credentials as well as a hugely impressive knowledge of the meat sector.”
Mr Healy will deal with challenges facing the sector as it seeks growth across all the meat sectors, notably the development of new markets. He will also be key to the activation of relevant meat sector actions in Food Wise 2025 and will foster strong relationships with key stakeholders.
