The months ahead will need a co-ordinated response from all industry stakeholders to help farmers.

What we must avoid is excessive talking down of milk price while we work our way through the current market difficulties and into a more stabilised situation. From the IFA’s perspective, the impact of price volatility cannot be shouldered by farmers alone. All stakeholders — co-ops, merchants, banks, and Government — have a responsibility and will have to step in and work with farmers.
