CAP will be debated by farmers in Brussels at October congress
Copa Cogeca, which represents 26 million European farmers and their families and 38,000 agri–co-operatives, is organising the Congress.
CAP and Family Farming — growth and employment for EU rural areas — will be the theme.
The aim is to launch a debate on the new CAP and discuss its implementation and how it can benefit family farms, agri co-operatives, rural development, growth and jobs.
It will highlight the importance of research and innovation and examine what further actions are needed. There will be panel debates on how EU competitiveness can be improved and on how CAP reform can respond, as well as on how to ensure the common nature of reform in the future
The congress will bring together delegates from the 28 Member States of the EU as well as from Copa Cogeca partner organisations in Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Turkey.
The respective presidents of Copa and Cogeca, Albert Jan Maat and Christian Pees, expect there will be around 650 participants.
