Efforts were continuing yesterday to find a buyer, according to a report broadcast by RTÉ, which cited two potential buyers.

This followed reports on Monday that the company had been seized by an unnamed British company.

Formerly Cappoquin Chickens, the firm has, inside the past five years, gone through liquidation, examinership, and receivership.

One of its main creditors, Close Invoice Finance — which had reportedly been owed €10m — seized control of the company and appointed a receiver, after the previous management had put the business up for sale but had failed to secure a deal.
