Some 600 staff in total are due to move from Dublin to Portlaoise, and up to 100 are to move from laboratories in Cork and Limerick to Macroom. “Initially, there were 73 applicants for the 100 posts advertised for Fermoy, and 74 for the 100 posts advertised for Macroom,” said the Minister.
An Bord Bia and Bord Glas headquarters are to move from Dublin to Enniscorthy, Co Wexford. The Minister said 26 Bord Bia staff members have to date indicated a willingness to relocate to Enniscorthy. Applications have been made by 47 persons from outside Bord Bia for positions in Enniscorthy, of whom 19 are based in Dublin. A site has been selected in Enniscorthy, and will be developed by the OPW.
