ICSA chief urges farm group unity
“This is a dark time for agriculture on this island, with huge external pressures, and it is important for all the farm organisations to work together in order to get the best deal for Irish farmers,” Mr Thompson said. He said the ICSA looked forward to working closely with both men to achieve the best results for Irish farmers.
Mr Cahill has already taken up duty as ICMSA president in succession to Pat O’Rourke while Mr Walshe will succeed John Dillon as IFA president on January 17.
