Six solicitors helped to take bidding to €1.65m

AT a private auction last Thursday in the White Horse Inn in Ballincollig, auctioneer Anthony O’Regan, of Keane Mahony Smith, sold a 38 acre farm at Aherla, Co Cork, for €1.65 million.

That’s the equivalent of €43,421 per acre - a strong price for this area, which is highly regulated from the point of view of seeking planning permissions.

There were six solicitors present, says Mr O’Regan, and at least 20 others when the auction started.
