Two parcels of West Cork land may suit hobby farmers

TWO parcels of Co Cork land, at Ballinwilling, Bartlemy, and Lyre, Araglin, are on the market with auctioneer Micheal Barry of Property Partners Dick Barry.

Both have good quality, level ground and will suit the hobby farmer, he says.

The 29-acre Ballinwilling holding, in particular, he says, is excellent, and will also appeal to farmers.

“They’re not out of the picture yet, they’re selling bits and pieces, and many have money from roads,” says the agent.

Just off the new bypass, on the Rathcormac to Midleton road, the land has a guide price of around €10,000 per acre.

The Araglin holding is about nine miles from Fermoy. This 18-acre farm comes with a derelict house.

Described as “good, sound grassland”, it has a guide of in excess of €7,000 per acre.
