All agree that it was a good year for a very busy guild
Catherine Mulhall CDA attended and congratulated the members on a busy and successful year.
The president’s, secretary’s and treasurer’s reports were given and approved.
The guild had taken part in competitions and won a few prizes. Dunmanway hosted the very enjoyable Guild of the Year competition which was won by Ballinascarthy.
One of the highlights was when Robyn Davis won first prize for her short story, the best in West Cork.
The guild took part in the National Draft Plan for Women and made submissions.
Members went to the West Lodge Hotel for the West Cork dinner.
During the year there were demonstrations on silk painting and crafts. There were talks on health and money management. Classes were held in cookery and computers. An art course with tutor, Veronica Twomey, was also held, , and an art exhibition follows in the town library this month.
A cookery demonstration and supper by Jerome Hurley was held in aid of the Federation Charity.
In June, family and friends joined the members for a night out at the Greyhound Track.
Meetings will resume in September with various activities planned for the year. New members are always welcome, do come along and join. The ICA is in Dunmanway 54 years.
