Bord Glas to merge with Bord Bia

THE Government has decided to go ahead with the merger of Bord Glas, the horticultural development board, with Bord Bia, which markets food and drink products worldwide.

Agriculture and Food Minister Joe Walsh announced yesterday that draft legislation to effect the merger is now in preparation.

It will be presented to the Oireachtas in due course. The main stakeholders will be consulted as appropriate during this process, he said.
