Frank Whelan says it’s obvious to blame God for the devil, because God allows Satan to exist (Irish Examiner letters, October 13). This is the same argument as to why God does not destroy bad people, and why he allows bad things to happen.

On reading the recent letter by Derek O’Flynn of the Israeli embassy staff, I am reminded of the fact that Israel is a state self-declared for Jews only.
As I watched the budget debate on TV it struck me that we, the Irish electorate, are a penny short of the full shilling with regard to the type of TD we elect.
RTÉ may consider it sacrilegious. It is the campaign, which starts here, for RTÉ to call full-time on the panel of Eamon Dunphy, Johnny Giles and Liam Brady.
With regard to Mrs U Forinton’s letter (Irish Examiner, Oct 9), the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Agreement, which is being negotiated in Brussels, is of grave concern to me and to many of my constituents.
