The government, politicians and lobby groups are presenting the campaign for the referendum as exclusively about “marriage equality”. How could I be against equality, the concept sounds so right and fair? I have to vote yes you say.

The government owns AIB. Therefore, AIB must be told to reduce variable mortgage rates by two percent and not just by the quarter of a percent they announced. Other banks are sure to follow, or else AIB will gain market share.

In a perusal of electoral results countrywide, as published in the Irish Examiner of May 26, 2014, it was startling that in practically every constituency less than half of the electorate cast their franchise.
Firstly, let me introduce myself: my name is Aaron Cowming and I am a native of Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, and currently living in Cork. I am also a gay man and a happy and proud one.
For days, we have listened to Finance Minister Michael Noonan crowing about his ‘spring review’ giveaway of €1.5bn.
According to the chief executive of IDA Ireland, a ‘yes’ vote in the referendum would be ‘good for business’. This is a curious assertion because there is no evidence in any jurisdiction, where same-sex marriage is lawful that it had any impact whatsoever on their prosperity.

Evert Bopp (Irish Examiner, Letters, April 24) was selective when writing about the information used by the ‘no’ campaign on their posters and literature.
There has been much commentary on Éamon de Valera infamous condolences to the German ambassador on the death of Adolf Hitler, 70 years ago.
The Referendum Commission’s booklet arrived yesterday. It is admirably clear.
