Apple unveiled the Apple Watch Series 10 at their latest keynote event. The Series 10 marks a significant leap forward in design and functionality. From the stunning new display to health features like sleep apnea detection, this latest iteration is set to be more than just an incremental upgrade.
One of the most noticeable improvements in the Apple Watch Series 10 is its new design. It features the largest display ever on an Apple Watch, offering up to 30% more screen area than previous models. This is a welcome change for those who use the watch for everything from checking notifications to tracking workouts. The larger screen means more readable text and easier navigation, allowing you to type messages more comfortably.
The case is thinner than the Series 9, measuring just 9.7mm and made from premium materials like aluminium and polished titanium, offering both strength and lightweight comfort. The lighter weight and sleeker design will make a big difference for someone who wears a watch all day, including during workouts.
The display on the Series 10 is not just bigger — it’s smarter. Apple introduced a wide-angle OLED display that’s up to 40% brighter when viewed from an angle, making it easier to read when your wrist is in motion, like during a workout or while typing. This is particularly useful for those constantly multitasking and needing quick access to information.
In addition, the always-on display now updates once per second, making it feel more dynamic and alive. Whether you’re using it for fitness tracking, notifications, or simply checking the time, the display on the Series 10 is both visually stunning and incredibly functional.
One of the most significant new features is sleep apnea detection, which uses the watch’s accelerometer to monitor breathing disturbances during sleep. Since sleep apnea often goes undiagnosed in many people, this could be a life-changing feature for users. The watch will analyse your breathing data and notify you if it detects consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnea.
This new feature builds on Apple’s existing suite of health tools, which include atrial fibrillation detection, fall detection, and even the ability to monitor wrist temperature for ovulation tracking. As someone who values health data, the Series 10 makes it easier to stay informed about my overall well-being.
The watch can charge up to 80% in 30 minutes thanks to a redesigned charging coil. This makes it incredibly convenient to top off your battery whenever you have a moment, ensuring you’re never without your watch for long.
Apple has also improved the Series 10's power efficiency, particularly with the new OLED display. This efficiency allows for better battery performance without compromising on brightness or functionality. These improvements are a game-changer for those who often forget to charge their devices.
Apple Watch Series 10 is now available to preorder from €449 for delivery on September 20.
