Apple unveils enhanced Apple Watch Ultra 2 with environmental milestone

Apple has announced the Watch Ultra 2, enhancing its most rugged and capable smartwatch. This updated version introduces the S9 SiP chip for improved performance, a new double-tap gesture, the brightest Apple display ever, extended altitude range, on-device Siri, Precision Finding for iPhone, and advanced water adventure capabilities. Running on watchOS 10, it offers redesigned apps, the Smart Stack, new cycling features, outdoor exploration tools, and the Modular Ultra watch face. Despite these advancements, the Ultra 2 maintains its 36-hour battery life and can last up to 72 hours in Low Power Mode.
For the first time, customers can opt for a carbon-neutral version of any Apple Watch, aligning with Apple's 2030 plan to achieve carbon neutrality across its entire business.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 is available for order today, with availability starting on Friday, September 22.

6. Recreational Scuba Diving and Freediving: Perfect for water sports, the Ultra 2 supports recreational scuba diving and freediving with the updated Oceanic+ app from Huish Outdoors.
7. On-Device Siri with Health Data Access: Siri requests can now be processed on the watch, providing quicker and more reliable responses for various tasks.
8. Precision Finding: The Ultra 2 includes a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip for Precision Finding for the iPhone 15 family.
9. watchOS 10: This update brings redesigned apps, new watch faces, Bluetooth connectivity for cyclists, Power Zones for training, and more.
10. Carbon Neutral Models: Select case and band combinations of the Ultra 2, Apple Watch SE, and the new Apple Watch Series 9 are carbon neutral.
11. Lineup: The Ultra 2 is available in 49mm size and is carbon neutral when paired with a new Trail Loop or Alpine Loop.
The Ultra 2 starts at €899 and is available for order in various countries, with in-store availability beginning on September 22. WatchOS 10 will be available on September 18 for Apple Watch Series 4 and later.
