Netflix To Get HDR

High Dynamic Range or HDR is a feature in video and photography, that leads to a much more beautiful image.

It refers to the specific application of colour in an image. The higher the dynamic range, the more colour that is in a shot.

HDR has been around for a while but it is only starting to be utilised by filmmakers to make their films and TV shows more beautiful recently.

Netflix have just announced that they will support HDR and even make special masters of their own programming to use the feature.

Netflix are really killing the game when it comes to providing a great experience for their viewers between downloading, 4K, HDR, and previews.

It might even take a while for consumers to catch up to what is on offer, but hopefully by this time next year we will be watching Stranger Things season 2 in 4K HDR on our own 4K TV’s.
