Windows 10 hits 200 million devices

Microsoft's Windows 10 launched in summer 2015 and while users seemed to be initially skeptical, global uptake has been spiking hugely in the months since as positive reports of the operating system filtered out.

Now, MS reports that over 200 million computers have installed the latest version which is delivered to users for free. In fact if you haven't upgraded yet you're probably very familiar with the polite but insistent prompts which suggest you really should get the new content.

This news comes at the end of a profitable year for Microsoft, with strong showings in cloud computing as well as console and MS Surface sales. This comes at an interesting time for the company which is working to integrate all of its systems like never before. Under the Windows 10 banner, desktop, mobile, console and tablet will all share the same ecosystem and app store, making it easier than ever to work, play and socialise.
