Watch Leo and Alejandro talk The Revenant
The Revenant is an amazing technical achievement and a gritty and gripping film, thanks to the lead performance by Leonardo DiCaprio and the direction by Birdman helmer Alejandro G. Iñárritu. Fresh from picking up a trio of Golden Globe awards at the weekend, the pair sat down with Charlie Rose for a in depth conversation about the film.
Check it out.
My gosh, isn't everyone so polite.
Naturally there's a lot of information about the difficult shoot, which has been earning a lot of column inches since the first reports of troubles on set started to filter out last year. But it's also interesting to hear a veteran like DiCaprio talk about why he wants to play a character like this - to find some element of truth in a legendary character, heavily informed by fiction and also some of the true elements of Hugh Glass' life.
It all sounds very intense, but happily the result is one of the most impressive feats of filmmaking every captured.
