Nest's Smart Thermostat gets an update
The Nest Learning Thermostat is exactly what it sounds like - a smart theromstat for your home which will take note of your preferences and learn to set heating and cooling patterns to suit. It's also available to access online, giving you the ability to turn your heating on and off from afar.
The Nest was first introduced in 2011 with Nest Labs since releasing a smart camera and smoke detector to users around the world. So it's time for a bit of a refresh of the original device, and that's arrived in the official third release of the thermostat.
The new Nest features a bigger screen with a significantly higher resolution - all the better for giving you quick information on the temperature stats in your home or notifying you of potential problems. The unit itself is a little smaller and slimmer than before, despite the bigger screen, and comes with a special feature to monitor furnaces for those of you who own one.
It also has a sensor which knows when you enter the room and gives you a quick look at a specific stat - be in the current temperature or the time or other info. And it still has the same great features, mainly helping you stay on top of your heating bills with a detailed breakdown of what you're spending and where you could save.
