Irish star Aidan Turner set for Agatha Christie's And Then There Were None
Aidan Turner is probably best known around these parts as one of the more handsome dwarves in the group which accompanied Bilbo Baggins to the dread mountain in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy but the 32 year old actor has more recently been earning a lot of attention for his turn as Poldark in the similarly named TV show.
He's heading back to TV later this year with a part in a new adaptation of Agatha Christies And Then There Were None and he's got some great company. The rest of the starry cast includes the likes of Charles Dance, Douglas Booth, Miranda Richardson and Sam Neill.
The story, as in Christies original, centres on 10 strangers who are invited to a mysterious and isolated island where they are accused of terrible crimes and slowly killed off as the revelations unfold. The TV movie is getting into production now, with a planned showing in late 2015 to coincide with the 125 anniversary of the birth of Agatha Christie.
"We are thrilled to be bringing Agatha Christie's wonderful novel to the television screen for the first time," said BBC drama commissioner Polly Hill. "This stellar cast will prove to be a real treat for the BBC One audience."
