Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will charge and transfer data faster

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is apparently in line to feature the new USB Type-C port. This means that it’ll charge and transfer data faster than its predecessors.

Type-C is able to handle 20 volts and 5 amps of power, compared to the 5 volts and 1.8 amps that USB 3.0 supplies. That should speed up charging noticeably.

It can also transfer data at double the speed of USB 3.0 (around 10Gbps), so moving files between your smartphone and computer should be a lot faster.

But perhaps the greatest advantage of using a USB Type-C cable is that you can plug it in either way. That means we won’t choose the wrong orientation every time despite having a 50% chance of getting it right.

There are also rumours that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will not feature a 4K display. Instead, a 2K display looks more likely.

It seems likely that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Note 5 at IFA 2015 in September. Expect more specs leaks ahead of the official announcement.
