Activision made the announcement on its blog, much to the delight of fans on last-gen consoles. The publisher said that while Black Ops 3 had been "designed to harness the full potential" of PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it’s aware that some players only have older consoles.

The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version of Black Ops 3 will include the campaign, multiplayer, and zombies gameplay. But there will be ā€œsome differences across generations.ā€ Activision revealed, for example, that the campaign mode will only support two player co-op on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Beenox and Mercenary Technology are handling development of Black Ops 3’s last-gen version.

Activision also confirmed that there will be no Wii U version of Black Ops 3. This doesn’t come as a huge surprise; last year’s Advanced Warfare was not released on the Wii U either.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is expected to make an appearance at E3 next week.
