New Wonder Woman director found - it's now Monster helmer Patty Jenkins
We only just got done telling you that DC's Wonder Woman movie had lost director Michelle MacLarenover creative differences but now another name has already been confirmed.After brief, very unlikely, speculation that Angelina Jolie was being eyed for the role (she doesn't really have the experience, beyond being a marquee name for the studio) it has now been said that Patty Jenkins will take over in the director's chair. 43 year old Jenkins is best known for the 2003 feature Monster which went on to win an Oscar for the lead performance by Charlize Theron as murderess Aileen Wuornos. Since then, she's been earning strong notices in TV for her work, including the pilot episode of the American remake of The Killing. And she also has an interesting history with the superhero world, as she was originally in place to helm Thor The Dark World, before bowing out in late 2011 over those famed 'creative differences'.She's been replaced before (in that case by Game of Thrones' Alan Taylor) and now she gets to be the replacement, while also making the move from Marvel over to DC. Let's hope her second foray into the comic-book world goes a little more smoothly, especially with the 2017 release date for Wonder Woman already looming. We're going to get a glimpse of the character before that with some kind of role in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the currently slate of DC movies pointing towards a Justice League mash-up movie which will arrive in late 2017. You can expect a full trailer for Batman v Superman next week.It's going to be a busy time for DC until then.DC recently had to announce that they had lost the director for their upcoming Wonder Woman movie, but it seems they've filled the place already
