Apple Watch will be the first smartwatch that matters

In an interview with Fast Company, Cook said that while Apple wasn’t the first to develop a smartwatch, it can still produce the best. He said, “We weren't first on the MP3 player; we weren't first on the tablet; we weren't first on the smartphone. But we were arguably the first modern smartphone, and we will be the first modern smartwatch - the first one that matters."He said that what sets the Apple Watch apart is how people interact with it. He said that the inputs used on other devices don’t work on smartwatches. He added, “Most of the companies who have done smartwatches haven’t thought that through, so they’re still using pinch-to-zoom and other gestures that we created for the iPhone.” The Apple Watch will have features like force touch to help people navigate the small screen with ease.In response to a question about the usefulness of the Watch, Cook said that people may only realise its worth in retrospect. He said, “People didn’t realize they had to have an iPod, and they really didn’t realize they had to have the iPhone. And the iPad was totally panned.” He added that the Apple Watch may be received in the same way.Cook revealed that Apple hasn’t set a sales target for the Apple Watch. He admitted that because it requires the iPhone 5, 6, or 6 Plus to work, it creates a ceiling. However, Cook revealed that he thinks it’s going to do well.In Short: Apple CEO Tim Cook said that the Apple Watch will be the first modern smartwatch, and added that it will be the first one that matters.
