Industrial production sees 31% drop in annual activity 

The figures are highly volatile given the scale of contract manufacturing by multinationals in Ireland

Production in manufacturing facilities fell by just under a third in the three months ending in November 2023 compared to the same period a year ago.

New figures from the Central Statistics Office found that the highly globalised modern sector, which includes the chemical, pharmaceutical and computer & electronic industries, experienced a 33.2% decrease in industrial production from September to November 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
