IDA figures show US-Irish FDI  helps nation through Covid

Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland, explains how impressive overseas investment continues to underpin optimism in Ireland's economy

All of the latest statistics on US-Irish business are contained in the e-paper of the 'US Business in Ireland 2021' publication, a link to which is included with this story.

Despite a year of unprecedented challenges dealing with a worldwide pandemic and Brexit, IDA Ireland announced 246 new investments in Ireland in 2020 and the creation of 20,123 new jobs. The US accounted for 67% of these investments coming from companies based in North America - the highest number yet up from 63% in 2019.
