Luxury West Cork resort Inchydoney Island Lodge returns to profit

Luxury West Cork resort Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa returned to profit last year, recording a €180,105 surplus after a €454,681 loss in the previous year.
New accounts for Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa Ltd show that the turnaround increased the company’s accumulated profit and loss reserves from €795,383 to €975,488 in the 364 days to December 28, 2025.
The company, which operates the hotel, conference, banqueting, leisure and spa facilities at Inchydoney near Clonakilty, employed an average of 180 people during the year, including directors. That was up from 176 the previous year.
The accounts show the company invested €531,406 in fixtures and fittings during the year.
Cash at bank and in hand stood at €1.09m at year-end, down from €1.4m a year earlier. Current liabilities reduced marginally from €2.89m to €2.87m.
The company’s net current liabilities fell from €1.28m to €1.09m, while total equity increased from €795,386 to €975,491.
Directors’ remuneration, including pension contributions, fell from €914,545 to €412,470. Employer pension contributions for staff totalled €306,803, compared with €997,014 in the previous year.
Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa Ltd operates the hotel under a management agreement with The Inchydoney Partnership, formed by directors Des and Ann O’Dowd.
The company earned a €250,000 management fee under the arrangement during the year, down from €271,266 in 2024.
The Irish-owned resort opened in 1998 and is home to Ireland’s first Thalassotherapy Seawater Spa. In November, Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa was named Ireland’s Leading Hotel 2025 at the World Travel Awards in Sardinia.
