Digital infrastructure firm Vertiv to create 300 jobs

US digital infrastructure firm Vertiv has announced plans to expand its manufacturing and testing facilities in Ireland and create 300 jobs.

Headquartered in Ohio in the US, Vertiz provides power, cooling and IT infrastructure solutions to data centres, communication networks and commercial and industrial facilities.

The company said it will be submitting an application to Donegal County Council for an additional 7,000 square metres of space at its Letterkenny facility, “supporting the planned creation of up to 300 new jobs in the region”.

In addition to its Letterkenny facility, Vertiv also has operations in Burnfoot also in Donegal and in Campsie in Derry alongside its central procurement office in Limerick and its sales and service office in Dublin.

The company said it has already onboarded more than 500 employees across its local facilities since the beginning of 2026 and is continuing to recruit for a growing number of open positions.

The new opportunities include multiple engineering and operational roles across the business.

President of Vertiv in Europe, Middle East and Africa, Paul Ryan, said the planned investment “reflects the strategic importance of our operations across Ireland and the North West”.

“As demand for critical digital infrastructure continues to accelerate, we are helping customers to deploy AI and data centre capacity worldwide. The expected extension, together with continued recruitment across our facilities, is part of our ongoing actions to support continued growth, while creating opportunities for skills development and career growth across the region.” 

The proposed project is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

Enterprise minister Peter Burke welcomed the investment by Vertiv saying the proposed expansion will “allow professionals to build careers within a global organisation while enjoying the unique quality of life the northwest offers, and it underlines the integral role these facilities play in Vertiv’s global manufacturing network”.

Chief executive of IDA Ireland, Michael Lohan, said the company’s “continued growth in Donegal is a strong example of how global companies can scale high-value operations from regional locations in Ireland”.
