Parcel delivery firm DPD Ireland has announced a new €10m investment in a distribution hub which will create 200 jobs and handle up to 10,000 parcels every hour.
The investment will see the company develop its warehousing and logistics capabilities at a distribution hub located at Gateway Logistics Park at Newlands Cross on Dublin's Naas Road. This expansion is driven by increasing parcel volumes and strong demand for its next-day delivery, logistics, and Out of Home services.

As part of expanding the hub, DPD Ireland will expand its workforce by more than 200 employees including drivers, operations, and administration workers. The company will also introduce 270 autonomous robots to replace its conveyor operations and enhance its sorting capabilities, up to 10,000 parcels an hour.
The new distribution hub will be fully operational by October 2026.
“We are delighted to announce this significant investment in our infrastructure and our people. This expansion is a direct result of the 99% service level we consistently deliver to our customers. Their trust and continued support have enabled our growth across all areas of the business," said DPD Ireland chief executive Des Travers.
"This new hub strongly positions us to meet rising parcel delivery demand and ensures that we continue to provide the high level of service that our customers expect, year-round. It is an exciting step forward for DPD Ireland as we build for the future.”
DPD has a nationwide network of 37 depots and a growing fleet of electric vehicles. In 2024, DPD Ireland delivered a 14% increase in pre-tax profits of €29.07m. The Athlone-headquartered delivery firm saw revenues top €200m for the second time, increasing by 7% from €188.6m in 2023 to €201.22m in 2024.
