Aldi will reopen its store in Fermoy in North Cork next Thursday after a €4.2m upgrade and expansion.  

Aldi will reopen its store in Fermoy in North Cork next Thursday, June 2, after a €4.2m upgrade and expansion.  

The store on Dublin Road has been closed for six weeks for refurbishment. Originally opened in 2012 as Aldi's 14th store in Cork, the expanded store includes the addition of five new jobs and a new bakery, with the retail floor expanded by more than 20% from 965 sqm to 1,171 sqm.

Aldi's employs over 290 full-time staff across Cork. it now has 166 stores nationwide, and last year spent over €1 billion with its Irish food and drink suppliers.

"The €4.2 million investment isn’t just about upgrading the store; it’s about creating a better shopping experience for our customers, while continuing to offer great value," said store manager Eoin Desmond.
