Heineken has made its latest sortie into the growing zero beer market with the launch of two flavoured zero beers in Ireland.

The brewing giant has added a lemon elderflower and a nectarine juniper flavour zero beer to its existing seller Heineken 0.0, which launched in 2018. Heineken 0.0 is currently available in draught at more than 3,000 hospitality outlets.

Sales of non-alcohol beer increased by 25% in 2024, according to a recent report from Drinks Ireland, and have increased by 150% over a five-year period. Sales of Guinness 0.0 in bars have grown 27%, with the non-alcoholic version now taking up 12% of total stout production at the Dublin brewery. In recent weeks, Active Brewing, a line of zero alcohol beers co-founded by Munster and Ireland rugby star Peter O'Mahony with Blarney Brewing hit Irish shelves, including Tesco.

Heineken employs 340 people at its historic brewery in Cork. Its wider portfolio includes Heineken, Heineken 0.0%, Birra Moretti, Coors, Orchard Thieves, Murphy’s, and Beamish. “These two new Heineken 0.0 flavours, which are aimed at the retail segment of the market, are a high-quality extension to our existing market-leading brand," said Heineken Ireland off-trade director Brian Malone.

Overall global demand for beer will see the company cut 6,000 jobs from its workforce worldwide but in Ireland, Heineken Ireland delivered strong growth in 2025. Murphy's increased its market share in Ireland with "mid-single digit" volume growth while Birra Moretti delivered strong growth in 2025. Sales of Murphy's have been particularly strong in the UK, with year-on-year value sales growth of 666% and a volume increase of 607%.
