Greater supports for disability employment are needed if the island of Ireland is to get closer to EU levels of disability inclusion in the workplace, a new report has found.

Recently unveiled at the Mind the Gap Summit hosted in the Canal Court Hotel, Newry, Co Down, the report found that the disability employment rate in the Republic of Ireland is 43%, below the EU average of 54%, while the Republic’s disability employment gap is 37% between disabled people and people without disabilities in employment.
