Electric Ireland increasing energy prices by 6%

Electric Ireland has announced it is putting energy prices up by 6%.

The company also said residential gas prices will rise by 8%.

Both price changes will take effect from August 1.

Electric Ireland said it is in response to increases in wholesale energy prices.
