Tourism will be worth over €5bn to Ireland for 2016, and details of Tourism Ireland's 2017 marketing plan to promote the country overseas are being launched today.

Tourism Ireland aims to build on this year’s performance and to increase overseas tourism revenue across the island by 4.5% in 2017 - growing to €5.7bn.

This year is set to be a record year for Irish tourism with 10.5 million people visiting the island.

Tourism Ireland says that the Irish 'brand' remains strong - it will target potential visitors in North America and Mainland Europe with a major new marketing campaign.
